Slowpitcher beim Rusty Cup 2022

Yesterday, Saturday, our BBQ team was invited to the Rusty Cup by the Reds in Stuttgart.

With perfect weather and high spirits, our BBQ'ers competed against the Shit-Happens teams, among others, Aalen Strikers, Karlsruhe Cougars and the host team the Reds.

Already in the first game you could see that our BBQ team is still quite inexperienced in slow pitching. Which didn't detract from the fun and enjoyment of the game.
As a result, the games were taken as they came and showed that they had fun with good actions.

In the end, the performance was unfortunately not enough to do better in the ranking. Our BBQ team thus took last place in the Rusty Cup.

Mohawks win fall tournament 2022 in Villingendorf

After last year's vice title, the direction for this year's edition was clear again – one wants to go to the final to best win this time.

The weather gods were not quite on the side of the participants on the first day of the tournament.

Participants were the Mohawks and the Aichelberg Indians, Zurich Lions, Steinheim Red Phantoms and the hosts 2 Men.

Divided into two groups, the Mohawks were challenged in game one against the Villingendorf Cavemen. Because both time- such as inning limits must always be kept in mind in such a tournament, quick points are always helpful. However, the Cavemen managed to do this better at the beginning. In the last round, however, the penny dropped and the Mohawks sat down 9:3 runs through.

In Spiel 2 on this day it went against the previous years- and series tournament winner Aichelberg Indians. In an exciting game in which every mistake was immediately punished, it was the Mohawks (with home rights) to get the winning run over home plate in a lookup. Endstand 5:4 Runs.

The second day of the tournament started with a clear win against the Steinheim Red Phantoms. Lots of base hits enabled 19 Runs to which the Phantoms have no answer (1 Run) had. With the 3 Victory in the third game was the ticket to the final.

The subsequent placement games of the other teams took place in the best weather, but just in time for the final game of the Mohawks against the second team of the Villingendorf Cavemen, the sky opened its floodgates. Unfortunately, a game was out of the question.

Due to the better group results, the Mohawks were declared the tournament winner.

A big thank you to the Villingendorf Cavemen for a great organization, very good food and a great supporting program with a live act on Saturday evening. We'd love to come back.
