Mit dem ersten Saisonsieg im Rücken gingen die Mohawks bei den Tübingen Hawks gestärkt zu Werke. Von Beginn an konnte die Offensive einige Stiche setzen und so die Gastgeber zu Fehlern zwingen. Mit einem Run im ersten und weiteren 3 Runs im zweiten Durchgang war ein kleines Polster geschaffen. In der Defensive blieben trotz eigener Fehler die Mohawks schadlos. Erst im vierten Inning schafften die Tübinger den Anschluss zum zwischenzeitlichen 1:5.

Im weiteren Verlauf egalisierten sich beide Mannschaften und nichts wirklich zählbares kam für beide zustande. Das änderte sich kurz vor Schluss im achten Durchgang wo die Gastgeber eine Schwächephase des Nagolder Pitchers Marc Meusel ausnutzen und mit 5 Runs wieder zum 6:7-Anschluss kamen. Eine Entscheidung fiel somit im letzten und neunten Inning.

Die Mohawks begannen aggressiv und so konnten durch gute Offensivaktionen nochmals 4 Runs nachgelegt werden, welche Tübingen, als Heimmannschaft mit Nachschlagrecht, erst einmal aufholen musste. Nagold schaffte schnell zwei Aus doch das rettende dritte Aus blieb verwehrt, so dass nochmals eine aussichtsreiche Situation für Tübingen entstand. Mit einem Strikeout behielt Pitcher Marc Meusel allerdings die Nerven und somit war der zweite Ligaerfolg unter Dach und Fach.

Next Sunday, the 03. Juli treffen die Mohawks im heimischen Mohawks-Park ab 15 Uhr auf den Tabellenzweiten Neuenburg. Baseballfans und –interessierten sind gerne eingeladen. Eintritt ist frei.
